Gallente Megathron in fleet
In 2007, I discovered a space MMORPG called EVE Online. I’m a huge fan of the space gaming genre (Wing Commander, X-Wing, Freelancer) and was curious about this new game that was getting good reviews. My initial foray into it proved disappointing since I thought there was little beyond a “normal” RPG game of skilling up a character and going on the daily grind to gain items. My first character didn’t last long and I left the account to dust when real life got into the way.
However, in mid-2008, I decided to give EVE Online another try after spending some time in the X-Universe games. The solidarity of the series although fun (huge empires could be created and fought over) quickly got lonesome. EVE seemed like a great way to rediscover space gaming again with a social element to it! This time, I created “Jar Calhoun” and soon after “Mica Breeze” to explore this new world. Since then, I have come to enjoy the diversity of the game with activities ranging from complex like Industry/Trade to massive fleet fights to gain sovereignty over systems.
Jar Calhoun is a Gallente citizen who prefers the soothing mining lasers rather than the harsh combat environment. Checking industrial activities and running invention and manufacturing jobs helps keep the engines of markets alive. Living in Verge Vendor, his daily peace was interrupted by ruthless pirates who practiced “can-flipping”. When TransGalactic Industries (TGIND) offered a position in their corporation, he joined them and has not looked back as they moved from the safe confines of Empire into 0.0.
Mica Breeze is an ex-Gallente soldier tired of Empire life and has chosen to offer his combat expertise to TGIND to combat the pirates that roam their home systems in Catch. When not involved in fleets, he offers his time to protect miners from Sansha pirates or sometimes chooses to hunt rats down in asterioid belts or exploration sites. With the discovery of wormholes into unknown space, he is excited at the prospect of doing combat with the new and dangerous Sleepers.
