Test Flight : Gallente Navy Comet
by Mica Breeze on Jun.04, 2009, under EVE Online
Ever since getting most of the faction frigates together, I’ve not had time to do a proper test flight (missions only.. Not yet able to use them in actual combat!). Recorded the following image while running a Level 2 mission. With the rather large lights up front, the Gallente Navy Comet looks like a police vehicle!
The Comet’s design comes from one Arnerore Rylerave, an engineer and researcher of the Roden Shipyards corporation. Originally created as a standard-issue police patrol vessel, its tremendous maneuverability and great offensive capabilities catapulted it into the Navy’s ranks, where it is now a widely-used skirmish vessel.
Gallente Frigate Skill Bonus: 7.5% bonus to Small Hybrid Weapon tracking speed and 5% bonus to Small Hybrid Turret damage per level
The flight technicians had equipped the frigate with a standard load out for missions (wanted T2 rails but they had ran out!). It definitely feels very quick to handle at 900 m/s although it lacks the DPS of my favorite frigate class ship the Ishkur. The Serpertis pirates took slightly longer to take down but it was pretty manageable.

Ship names in EVE
by Mica Breeze on May.20, 2009, under EVE Online
I’ve always been fascinated by the ship names in Eve in particular those of the Gallente variation. Kyle Langdon has compiled a very useful reference here. My favorite ship for its nimble tackling duties is the Ares (Interceptor): God of War (Greek). Unfortunately, the Megathron and Dominix which I often fly doesn’t have an equivalent.
*Update*
Kyle has another great post about Minmatar ships here.
Gallente Federation (Very Good)
by Jar Calhoun on May.14, 2009, under EVE Online, Missions
I’ve managed to get in touch with agents for CreoDron and Duvolle Laboratories. They have kindly sent me on lots of courier missions and encounters with Serpentis pirates. After every 16 missions, another agent (storyline) drops me a message regarding some important courier or recon mission to undertake for the Gallente Federation and so I have slowly built up my standings with them from 3.43 to 5.05.
Apparently there are also data center agents who will accept criminal dog tags that will help boost faction standings. I talked to some with the dog tags I had and those gave a nice boost along the way.
Unfortunately, my attempt to engage in missions with COSMOS agents in Sinq Laison ran into problems as there seems to be communication issues with Preaux Gallot. I shall attempt it again when the issues are resolved. For now, I’ll continue engaging the Duvolle agents to get in touch with Sitaleere Beene. With research project management trained, I’m now able work with a few Level 4 agents boosting my datacore needs. I have my eyes set on working with Core Complexion next since they have some nice agents to work with.
While in Empire, I’ve managed to hire an assistant to help do some mining in a quiet corner of Sinq Laison. This helps maintain the mineral stores while I’m busy missioning. Have not talked to Mica much, he’s off working with Sisters of EVE as there seems to be a demand for their scan probes and launchers. Last I heard, he had managed to talk to Inesmir Jimud in Gicodel. I might join him for missions there soon once I get my work done at Duvolle Labs.
Postcard from Empire
by Jar Calhoun on Sep.13, 2008, under Corporation, EVE Online
Mica writes to me today from his new Myrmidon battle-cruiser in Empire. He is quickly growing weary of running missions with his Federation Navy agent, they no longer present a challenge to him even as he moves from Level 3 agents to Level 4 agents. I’m amazed at how far he has progressed while I’m still slogging away on Exhumer training to be able to solo-mine in 0.0.
The days here have been long and weary with corporation mates getting tired and some choosing to remain in Empire. Those remaining soldier on in fleets but some of us are miners who can’t wield a proper PvP ship against the hardened pirates around us. I urge Mica to join us so that he might take up the fight against the pirates. He says he will consider and get back to me soon.
